
The Challenge
The 14m x 2.5m digital wall located in Bristol Airport’s new security search facility required the creative expertise of our talented team to produce content worthy of its audience’s attention – and the screen’s 5 million pixels.

“This was part of a brand journey where we really start to merge the physical world with the digital world. It’s a massive focal point, beautifully integrated into its environment. I had very high expectations, and I am very happy to say that the outcome has surpassed those expectations.”

Our Approach
From examining the space, along with the airport’s mission, we knew the content had to achieve 3 primary objectives – enhance the passenger experience, transform the area’s surroundings and subtly promote the Bristol Airport brand and everything it has to offer. At this stage we knew we need to put together a solid strategy for the canvas outlining the different campaigns, their individual objectives and how this plays back across the space.

The Campaigns
> Sense of Place
Taking every passenger back to their childhood, we explore the lovely surroundings of the south west through the flight of a paper aeroplane.

Subtle promotion of Bristol Airport’s direct destinations, with local weather and visualised flight paths.
> Abstract Art
Digitalised abstract art, celebrating Bristol’s strong heritage and dedication to the aviation industry.
> Amazing Journeys
Stunning 4K video productions featuring members of the airport’s local community and the amazing journeys they’ve devoted their lives to.
> Through the Window
Peaceful and relaxing landscapes transforming the digital wall into a window looking out on the beautiful English landscape.
> Date Specific
Celebrating days of importance throughout the year with visually engaging bespoke content relevant to that time.

The Detail
Following the initial strategy, we developed multiple bespoke digital campaigns – all of which were crafted to serve their own unique purpose, from creating a sense of place, through to connecting passengers with their upcoming destination. Artistic content also helps settle the nerves of the anxious flyer, whilst entertaining those that wait.

The Result
The high-traffic security zone has been brought to life with striking digital content that illuminates the space and engages passengers as they pass through the zone. The airport also have a canvas for targeting customers during different times of the year, with a solution that allows for easy content updates to be made, whenever necessary.
