Meet the talented Gabi, one of our creative designers here at VISUALAB Media. With a love for UX/UI design and a unique creative flair, Gabi has brought a fresh perspective and a heap of enthusiasm to our studio since her joining last year.

If you were asked to describe yourself in 5 words, what would you say?
“I’d say; passionate, introverted, patient, hard working and generous.”

What Inspired you to Pursue a Career in Design?
“When I was in school (around 14/15 years old), we were allowed to take a creative subject of our choice, and I picked art. I didn’t love art, as drawing isn’t my favourite and I found it difficult to connect with the very abstract concepts we were supposed to rationalise our art through, but I enjoyed the creative outlet. At the beginning of my second year taking art, my teacher told me that I should switch to the design class instead, as she thought I’d enjoy it more and be better at it. She was so right! I fell in love with the process of design and problem solving aspects of it, and from there decided I wanted to pursue design as a career.”

Can you share a recent project you worked on?
“Tam and I collaborated on the recent Chinese New Year campaign for Change Group. I helped to bring the animation to life and I love the overall result!”

What would you say is your design style/aesthetic?
“Bright colour combos and bold type!”

Outside of work, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy?
“I love looking after my plants (some may say I have too many), cooking, crochet, running and walking along the sea where I live, and reading.”
